Northwood is pleased to announce our quarter two honor roll students. The honor roll is determined by the GPA for the quarter. B honor roll is for students with a 3.00 - 3.49. A honor roll is for students with a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Next week, Northwood will be having dress-up days for Winter Fest. See the graphic for details. There will also be a Sweetheart Dance for high school students on Saturday, February 7th from 7-10 PM at JLAAC.

Please note this change to the school calendar. On Tuesday, March 24th, Northwood School will have an Academic Testing Day where PK-5th will not have school. This will enable more support with proctoring for state testing in grades 6th - 11th by utilizing our elementary staff.

Due to the forecasted extreme cold and hazardous wind chills, all after-school activities are canceled for this evening, Thursday, January 22nd, including the after school program, practices and games. Additionally, the Northwood School District will be closed all day tomorrow, Friday, January 23rd. This closure includes all classes, after-school activities, and the Tiny Seeds Learning Center.

Athletic Event Update: Due to the predicted cold weather, the middle school girls basketball game at Winter scheduled for Thursday, January 22nd has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 19th. The time of the game will still be 5:00 PM and the location will still be at Winter.

Northwood School is at the mid-year point and grades will be available soon. Kindergarten - 5th grade students will each be bringing home their report cards on Wednesday, Jan. 21st. 6th - 12th grade students and parents can access final grades via Infinite Campus on Wednesday, Jan. 21st. MS & HS families needing printed copies of report cards can request those with the District Office.

This week NorthStar students participated in the Wisconsin Land and Water Conservation Speaking Contest! Beginning in November, students selected and researched conservation topics, wrote speeches, and delivered them in the classroom. Twelve of our 5th-8th graders were eligible to compete at the county level in two divisions. First place winners from each division are advancing to the area competition next week to determine who moves on to state!

Today some of our middle school Northwood and NorthStar students and teachers are attending the "Empower" Leadership Event sponsored by the Green Bay Packers.
Part of their time today will be spent in breakout sessions. The topics for those sessions are: Rhymes with Reason – Language of Leadership, Care Kit Packing with Packers Alumni Nick Barnett and Frank Zombo and Pulaski Hope Squad, and Character Playbook – When it Matters Most.
