With a week and a half to go, the Northwood Evergreens are looking forward to Spring Break. Northwood's spring break will run from March 9th - March 13th. The district office will be closed during break, but administration will be checking voicemail and email messages throughout that time. The Tiny Seeds Learning Center will be open their normal hours for families who previously signed up for care.

February at NorthStar has been all about outdoor activities! Last week, NorthStar participated in the annual Barnebirkie, the kid's version of the American Birkebeiner. NorthStar students chose to cross-country ski in either the 1K or 3K race that is traditionally held in Hayward. This year, with the fluctuating weather, the kids race was held at Telemark (a first for us), the official starting place of the full Birkebeiner. Though the event isn't timed, students received Barnebirkie hats as well as participant medals when they finished! Way to go, NorthStar!

Athletic Event Update: Tonight's JV Boys Basketball game vs. Turtle Lake has been cancelled. The Varsity Girls and Boys games will still be played as scheduled at home. Girls will play at 5:45 PM and boys at 7:15 PM. Go Big Green!
Just a reminder that for all home sports events children 5th grade or younger need to sit with parents/guardians.
Kid's Heart Challenge at Northwood is starting! Mr. Latvala is sending information home this week with elementary students. Parent's please check your child's backpack.

Just one last reminder that there will not be school for students on February 16th due to a professional development day. The Tiny Seeds Learning Center is open for their regular hours, however.
Project Prom Dress! Help local youth attend their prom. Donate your clean, gently used dresses to help young ladies in the area have a night to remember. Give that dress another night to shine! Items being sought for the event are: prom dresses, party dresses, evening gowns, jewelry, shoes, purses & clutches. Collecting New & Gently Used items by March 6, 2026. The Shopping Date for students is Sunday, March 29, 2026 at JLAAC in Minong from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. For more information, see the graphic. Wisconsin’s public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend a school district other than the one in which they live. Applications may be submitted to up to three nonresident school districts if the pupil wishes to attend a brick and mortar school.
