Northwood School District

We are welcoming families for a pajama movie night where we will be watching "Polar Express", having hot chocolate and cookies, and playing games. We would love to see you all there. The movie will start at 4:00 and end around 5:30. If you have any questions please reach out to Miss Alana (alana_hill@northwoodk12wi.com).

There will be a 2 hour delay today, Wednesday, December 10th due to the snow. Buses will be arriving 2 hours later than their normal schedule. This means if your pick up time is at 7:15, the bus will arrive around 9:15 today. The Tiny Seeds Learning Center will also be opening two hours late today. Also, as a reminder, breakfast will not be served at school with a late start.

Out of an abundance of caution due to the impending weather, the Elementary Holiday Concert has been postponed to Thursday, December 11th.

The schedule for the evening will now be as follows:

4:30 PM - Santa arrives for photos
5:30 PM - Elementary Holiday Concert (students should arrive around 5:15)
Short intermission to reset the stage
6:30 PM - Middle School/High School Concert

Santa will also be available for pictures after the elementary concert. Cookies and punch will be served in the commons following both performances.

We encourage you to stay and enjoy both concerts if you are able.

Please remember the After School Program is available for students, please contact the school office if this would be helpful the evening of the concert.

Yesterday Aimee Kringle visited the Northwood Band and gave lessons to all the flute players and conducted a rehearsal for both the MS and HS bands. Mrs. Kringle has over 24 years of experience teaching both MS and HS bands between Shell Lake and Rice Lake and currently teaches classes at UW Stout along with running her own music studio, Noteworthy Music Studio, out of Rice Lake. Northwood is so thankful for her guidance and expertise as they prepare for our upcoming concerts next week. Thank you, Mrs. Kringle!!!

Athletic Update - The varsity girls basketball game scheduled for Tuesday, December 2nd at Mellen has a change of start time. The game is now starting at 6:00 PM.

Winter Break begins Wednesday, December 24th at Northwood School. The district office will be closed during break, but administration will be checking voicemail and email messages throughout that time. Please see the graphic with dates and times that the Tiny Seeds Learning Center will be open.

Shout out to the Northwood Middle School students! They all passed their core classes for 1st quarter and are going to be celebrating with some fun events at school on Friday, November 21st, including nachos!

Way to go, Evergreens! $1,217.47 was raised during this year's Penny Wars at Northwood School! The winning classes were 5th grade, NorthStar & 12th grade. Congratulations!

All proceeds are being given to our local food shelves. The whole school did an amazing job! Stand Tall Like Evergreens!

The holiday season is fast approaching and the music department wants you to mark your calendars for their upcoming program and concert.
