Athletic Events Update: Tonight's baseball, softball and track events have been postponed due to the weather. The softball game has been rescheduled for Friday, May 1st. The reschedule dates for baseball and track will be determined at a later date.

A reminder about the 1st Grade's Annual "Under the Sea" play taking place for families tomorrow, Tuesday, April 28th at 2:00 PM in the Richards Auditorium. This event will be livestreamed. The link for BoxCast is: https://tinyurl.com/4c33rntt.
The next NorthStar Coffee Connections will be May 15th from 7:30 - 9:00 AM. Students will be showcasing their choice projects and the story books they've written. All are welcome to attend.

Northwood held their prom this past weekend at Gordon Pines. The pictures shown are the prom court. Raya Johnston and Aiden Hakime were crowded queen and king. The others on the court were Kianna Bickell, Jada Booth, Chloe Davey, Wyatt Corlett, Gunnar Golembiewski, and Linken Kasinskas. The princess and prince this year were Collins Reiss and Spencer Meyer. The Douglas County Forestry Department donated red pine seedlings to the Northwood School third and fourth graders for Arbor Day (April 24th)! The students were excited to receive their trees and are looking forward to planting them! Stand Tall Like an Evergreen!
Traditions are important and this one is quite special. Each kindergarten class plants a class tree near the end of the school year as part of the Luke Stanek Memorial. Barry and Lorraine (former Northwood teacher) Stanek started this in memory of their son. Northwood has run out of room for new trees by the football field, so now the trees are planted in front of the building between the parking lot and highway. This year's kindergarten group is the Class of 2038. It will be so fun to see how big the tree gets by the time their class graduates!
NorthStar is hosting their 2nd annual open house on May 12th before the Elementary Spring Concert for families interested in enrolling or finding out more information about NorthStar!

Just a reminder that Wisconsin’s public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend a school district other than the one in which they live. Applications may be submitted to up to three nonresident school districts if the pupil wishes to attend a brick and mortar school. Students also receive free breakfast, lunch and transportation. The child needs to be 3 years old by September 1, 2026 to be eligible. The Northwood School 3rd and 4th grade students have been learning about Earth Day and environmental awareness during Social Studies class. To help spread the message, they have decorated paper grocery bags for Earth Day! The bags will be available on Earth Day, April 22nd, at Henson's Country Foods.
