We are inching closer to starting the new school year. Here is a little checklist of some of the things for parents and guardians to keep in mind.

The updated website and Northwood app allow parents and guardians to report an absence in two clicks! See the graphic for details for both platforms.



A fundraising event is coming up on Saturday, August 22nd from 1:00 - 5:00 pm at Wilson's KI Club. There will be a corn feed happening with proceeds going to help the Northwood & NorthStar 5th graders attending the Ernie Swift Camp this fall. Come out and support this great cause.

Volleyball practice for middle school students at Northwood begins next Monday, August 24th. Practices run from 3:45 - 5:15 PM in the Northwood Auditorium.

Reminders
Is your family moving or have they moved this summer? If so, please contact the District Office to ensure your family receives all of the Back to School information that was already mailed at the beginning of August.
Does your child need bussing for the 26-27 school year? If so, please confirm that with the District Office, if you haven't done so already.

The next (and final) dinner and movie night is showing Harold & the Purple Crayon on August 12 sponsored by a partnership of Healthy WashCo, the Village of Minong and Northwood School District. Doors will open at 5:00 PM for a meal served by the Northwood School District Board and staff. Children's activities include an obstacle course, games and crafts beginning at 5:30 PM. And the movie begins at 6:30 PM. There will be a huge drawing for family games and activities at the end of the movie. Attendees must be present at the time of the drawing to win. Dinner is FREE. The movie is FREE. Come and enjoy!

Northwood's Annual Back to School Picnic is open to everyone! We look forward to seeing many smiling faces on Wednesday, August 26th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Complimentary hot dogs and chips will be available for all families. Families can also meet the staff, check out the classrooms, and attend information meetings, as needed. The meetings will take place in the Library.

The updated website for the Northwood School District tries to keeps items similar between the website and the app. In the top right corner of the website a menu appears that reflects the same options that appear on the app. Note that the app only shows items the district feels are important. The website contains many more detailed items.


NSS Cross Country practices will start Monday, August 17th. The practices are from 9:30 - 11:30 AM at the Solon Springs School. The coach will drive a Northwood van to Solon Springs and leaves Northwood School at 9:00 AM sharp! Anyone planning to go out for cross country is asked to join our team on SportsYou. The info to join can be found on the graphic.

If you do not receive one for your family. or you still need to enroll a new student to the Northwood District, contact the District Office.


Reminder: Attention All Student Athletes and Parents that the mandatory all-sport eligibility meeting will take place tonight, Monday, August 3rd at 7:00 PM in the Northwood Auditorium. All student athletes who plan on participating in any school sponsored sports during the 26-27 school year and are in grades 5-12 and their parents/guardians should attend.
