There is a new bulletin board that is the talk of Northwood. The "Be The Look of Leadership" shows all Evergreens and visitors which students are the current Principal's Honor Roll (4.00 GPA), A Honor Roll and B Honor Roll members. These hardworking students would most likely agree with the statement at the bottom of the board that reads "Simply Showing Up is Not Good Enough." This board is located in the commons, so all students get to see it and hopefully be encouraged to maybe one day see their picture and name on the board.

With a week and a half to go, the Northwood Evergreens are looking forward to Spring Break. Northwood's spring break will run from March 9th - March 13th. The district office will be closed during break, but administration will be checking voicemail and email messages throughout that time. The Tiny Seeds Learning Center will be open their normal hours for families who previously signed up for care.

February at NorthStar has been all about outdoor activities! Last week, NorthStar participated in the annual Barnebirkie, the kid's version of the American Birkebeiner. NorthStar students chose to cross-country ski in either the 1K or 3K race that is traditionally held in Hayward. This year, with the fluctuating weather, the kids race was held at Telemark (a first for us), the official starting place of the full Birkebeiner. Though the event isn't timed, students received Barnebirkie hats as well as participant medals when they finished! Way to go, NorthStar!

Athletic Event Update: Tonight's JV Boys Basketball game vs. Turtle Lake has been cancelled. The Varsity Girls and Boys games will still be played as scheduled at home. Girls will play at 5:45 PM and boys at 7:15 PM. Go Big Green!

Project Prom Dress! Help local youth attend their prom. Donate your clean, gently used dresses to help young ladies in the area have a night to remember. Give that dress another night to shine! Items being sought for the event are: prom dresses, party dresses, evening gowns, jewelry, shoes, purses & clutches. Collecting New & Gently Used items by March 6, 2026. The Shopping Date for students is Sunday, March 29, 2026 at JLAAC in Minong from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. For more information, see the graphic.
