NorthStar students Ava Kildow and Sam Draper competed at state in the Wisconsin Land and Water Conservation Speaking Contest this week! Both students previously competed and won at both the county and area levels to qualify for state in Wisconsin Dells, where Ava placed third in the junior division and Sam placed 2nd in the elementary division. Congratulations for all the hard work they put in along the way!

March is tree-tapping season in NorthStar! This week NorthStar students ventured out to the school forest to tap maple trees in anticipation for the upcoming sap run. Each spring, NorthStar participates in this traditional learning opportunity and makes their own maple syrup to enjoy in and out of the classroom!

There is a new bulletin board that is the talk of Northwood. The "Be The Look of Leadership" board shows all Evergreens and visitors which students are the current Principal's Honor Roll (4.00 GPA), A Honor Roll and B Honor Roll members. These hardworking students would most likely agree with the statement at the bottom of the board that reads "Simply Showing Up is Not Good Enough." This board is located in the commons, so all students get to see it and hopefully be encouraged to maybe one day see their picture and name on the board.

With a week and a half to go, the Northwood Evergreens are looking forward to Spring Break. Northwood's spring break will run from March 9th - March 13th. The district office will be closed during break, but administration will be checking voicemail and email messages throughout that time. The Tiny Seeds Learning Center will be open their normal hours for families who previously signed up for care.
