
Tonight at 6:00 PM the elementary holiday program will take place in the Richards Auditorium at Northwood School. And on Thursday the MS/HS holiday concert will be at 6:00 in the Richards Auditorium. Come and get into the holiday spirit with help from our Northwood students.



At lunch this past Friday, the 10th graders got their chance to cash in their prize for being the winning high school class for the 2024 Penny Wars that took place before Thanksgiving break. Mr. Bub was a good sport about it and students had some fun! The tape didn't hold long, but memories were definitely made! The Penny Wars raises money for Minong's Operation Rudolph. This year the total donated was over $1,600. Way to go, Evergreens!







Weekly Northwood School & Sporting Events for December 9 - December 13.



Just looking ahead for information about the upcoming holiday break at Northwood School from December 23rd to January 1st. There will not be school for the students on those dates and classes will resume on Thursday, January 2nd.


The NorthStar students and staff invite all to their upcoming Coffee Connections on Friday, December 13th from 7:30 - 9:00 AM. Their topic for this session is world explorers throughout history. So stop in, grab some coffee and maybe learn some interesting information.


Santa's reindeer are scheduled to land at Lakeland Family Resource Center next Saturday, December 14th! All are invited! See the flyer for more information.

Toys for Tots and Teens (0-17 or 18 if still in school) want our area youth to have the opportunity to receive gifts from their organization. The deadline for sign up for toys is December 6th. They are also accepting donations for Toys for Tots and Teens until December 9th. See the attached flyers for more information .

Way to go, Evergreens! We raised $1,660.14 for Minong's Operation Rudolph! The coin counter got a big work out once again this year! There were seven buckets filled with coins that were all counted daily. If you ask one of our Evergreen students, they may explain to you about how the penny wars work and what a sabotage is, as well.

Today was the annual "Balloons Over Broadway" parade by the 1st graders of Northwood. The Northwood School District wants to thank East Central Energy for their recent donation of hygiene products for our students. It was greatly appreciated!


A reminder that Northwood School's Thanksgiving Break starts tomorrow. The District Office will be open from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM and the Tiny Seeds Learning Center will be open their normal hours. Everyone at the Northwood School District hopes all of our Northwood families have a safe and healthy Thanksgiving!


The NSS Football Team has several players who have received high honors recently.
Jared Schultz was named to the 8-player All-State football team and was also named the 8 player football Player of the Year. These are high honors that have never been achieved by any of our players in the past.

A reminder of these events happening this week. Penny Wars ends on Thursday with it being "Everything Counts" day and all donations are positive for each group. Thursday is also blaze orange & camo day to celebrate the last day before Thanksgiving break. And an important reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, November 22nd. The Tiny Seeds Learning Center will be open for their normal hours that day and the District Office will be open from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM.




With the last day of this year's Penny Wars being this Thursday, tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 19th) is a Matching Tuesday. All pennies in each groups bucket will be matched by a donor to double the positive total for the group.


9th and 10th grade students recently attended the High School Career Day at Northwood Tech in Rice Lake. Students signed up for two programs/sessions they were interested in learning about. They were able to interact with college instructors and students while participating in hands-on opportunities with Northwood Tech’s career programs.
